On October 12, 2015, Karen (Leaffer) Schauble of Leaffer Law Group will present “Legal Lowdown: Fundamentals for Scholarship Providers” at the National Scholarship Providers Association’s annual conference. In a session tailored to private foundations, community foundations and public charities, Karen will share the legal fundamentals any organization with, or considering starting, a scholarship program should consider.  She will cover key tax considerations and compliance issues, including donor participation in the scholarship process, use of donor advised funds, other options for establishing a scholarship fund, the requirement (or not) of a scholarship plan, tax reporting and withholding obligations, and document retention.
